Louis Süe (1875–1968) and André Mare (1887–1932) were influential French designers who played a pivotal role in the development of the Art Deco movement. Süe, originally from Bordeaux, trained as a painter and architect, exhibiting with the 'Nabis' at the Salon des Indépendants in 1902. Mare, hailing from Argentan, began his artistic journey as a painter before venturing into decorative arts.
